Developed in a series that explores narratives within life, death and its symbiotic relationship, “So Long, Cowgirl” is an expressive interpretation of the memory of a romantic relationship. Adorned by written word and statements around love and its lasting impression on an individual, the woman is symbolically representing how love can with withstand breakups, sudden death or abrupt endings through joyous moments and experiences. This painting is 1 of 4 paintings created in honor of Dia de los Muertos, a Mexican holiday that celebrates life and the rejoining of spirits.
