Developed in a series that explores narratives within life, death and its symbiotic relationship, “Los Muertos Siempre Viven” is a simple recognition of how those who have passed continue to live through the shared memories and experiences with others. The skull, symbolic of death, is adorned by written word that showcase the particular individual’s features, place of birth and cause of death. This painting is 1 of 4 paintings created in honor of Dia de los Muertos, a Mexican holiday that celebrates life and the rejoining of spirits.
