Denver Chalk Art Festival

“I wanted to represent Teotihuacán at the Denver Chalk Art Festival, as it is living testament of a previous society full of cultures and individuals from all over Mexico. Teotihuacán was a melting pot with influences from Maya, Zapotec and Mixtec peoples. We currently live in a melting pot country full of bright life and amazing influences from all over the world! I wanted to use bold and vibrant colors as it would contrast the corporate blues and grays to represent the various influences we see today. Huge thank you to the Denver Museum of Nature & Science for the sponsorship and thank you to the Denver Chalk Art Festival for giving me the opportunity to participate!”

Workshops With Morgan County School District Re-3
— K-12 students

Working with Morgan County School District Re-3, StarStormTito was able to facilitate multiple workshops working with children ranging from K-12th grade. These individuals come from migrant families, and the intent was to show these children that there are a multitude of careers available to them. Creativity can also lead to inspiration. Thus, being able to showcase and highlight an outlet for self expression directly aligns with the goals of Maurilio and allowed him to help make an impact in the future of these students. These workshops were facilitated bilingually, both in English & Spanish to meet the students where they are at on their journey to adjust to their new environment.
